Leaving The Putrid Forest and The Coven's Lair with the knowledge that they are The 18th, the travelers make trail back to Stalwart Fortress as word reaches them Gregor, the Savant of Luta has grown weary of the world and has chosen to end his life.
Traveling past The Church of Her, some stop to regard the statue of Mother Agora amidst the awareness Her light had begun to dim. Upon approach, it became clear that Her light had been extinguished and in place of her image was a new, transformedto hold a visage of Detriti, The Swamp Witch.
None were certain if this was indeed a corruption, or just another interpretation of The Mother under new light.
Returning to Stalwart Fortress, the travelers are greeted by Rita who informs them that Gregor will soon pass, but will entertain one more question.
The group ponders their options and make many suggestions. Gregor knows much about the world and could tell them nearly anything they wished to know.
Yet, when time came, a softness overtook the hearts of many and they wished only to know Gregor's final wish.
Confused by the question, Gregor appreciates the consideration but bears that his final wish had been plain — to end his life.
Yet, he communicates a wish of Luta the Beacon, gifting the travelers Luta's Silver Compass. He explains that Luta the Striver left it with his lover, The Beacon, and that it would always point to his location. However, it had lost its power and would need three components to return to function.
Gregor reveals the existence of three new Tokens of Concord:
The Molten Heart — Token of The Turlo, kin of Yuria.
The Stone of Zo — Token of The World Bearers, appointees of Zo.
The Serpent's Scale — Token of The Nameless, cult of The Nameless Serpent.
If brought together with The Compass, it will lead the travelers to Luta the Striver and that through Luta the Beacon this is his final wish.
With that, Gregor calls for his destruction, citing all he has witnessed in his time;
The entirety of the world rests in my mind like a machine. The Turlo turned to ash, the worms feasting on flesh underneath the world, the weight beared by Zo, Piyu's tears, the horrors of Yorn and Yogg, burning the world in the perverse image of Her. The death of so many, and the Beacon witnessing it all.
He thanks The Pilgrim and ushers Rita to end his life.
