Remo meets with the pilgrims in the halls of Stalwart Fortress and takes them to see Gregor, the Savant of Luta. He reveals that Gregor has been kept alive through strange devices he does not understand, but is prepared to answer a few questions that the collective may have for him.
The travelers gather around Gregor and ask him their elected questions.
Gregor reveals he knows much about The Seventeen, but not everything. He tells us that they are the rulers of past cycles, and each found a way to absorb the power of the world; though he does not know how.
She Who Smiles was the first of them, and has been in every cycle. She watches all, and with a smile. Her disciples have been seen by the researches of The Stalwart, but none have ever heard them speak. The Stalwart have no record of her origins or purpose.
Yorn, The Hole built a Kingdom of the Enlightened in Her glory and, witnessing the destruction of The Nameless Serpent harnessed the power of Mother Agora's light to transform himself into a being able to contain his kingdom in the hole within himself. This has provided safe haven for the Kingdom of the Enlightened and allowed it to survive for many Past Cycles.
Yogg, The Eye is brother to Yorn, and after the Kingdom of the Enlightened was established he witnessed many torn apart beyond Her glory. Yogg was sent a Codex of Mother Agora, in a beam of searing light. Through it, he obtained the highest form of her knowledge. This process transformed him into The Eye of Her Glory, and his vision ensures all follow her path.
Luta the Striver founded the Stalwarts and led them on their pursuit of knowledge. Luta's followers travelled with him across the lands to collect knowledge. He recorded all of the Stalwarts' knowledge on the walls of Stalwart Fortress in a language yet undecoded by the current Researches of Stalwart. Though, Gregor has been around long enough to have been told many things from Luta's original students.
One of Luta the Striver's students became his lover, and he gave The Lover his arm to protect The Stalwart in his absence. While gone, the arm grew attached to him and slowly transformed them into an amalgam of Luta and the mortal. The Lover lost his ability to speak and over time became Luta the Beacon, broadcasting a great font of knowledge that casts visions and fears into all minds who gather near it. Only those who carry Field Notes, or have remained within the Stalwart Fortress are able to withstand the madness of these visions.
Gregor himself had once been a researcher within the Stalwart Fortress, but was called to Luta The Beacon. The process left him crippled, but gave him the power of eternal memory and enlightened his mind.
Since leaving the Stalwart Fortress, Luta The Striver has not been seen again. Though, scholars tell of writings in his ancient language scrawled in various locations throughout the world.
Members of the Church of Her found an ancient technology in the ruins near the Stalwart Fortress and Ruined Kingdoms of Yore. This ancient technology enabled deeper learning and education in the ways of Her light.
A great polymath of the Church of Her sought further enlightenment and thrust himself into an ancient stone that was found at the centre of the Ruined Kingdoms of Yore. Through this, he became The Artificial God, a source of power for all of the technology discovered there. Such technology is what keeps Gregor the Savant alive after his encounter with Luta The Beacon.
The technology brought a strange calamity to the area and the ancient realms. Those inflicted with its plague became marked with never-ending life, but lost their minds in the process.
Piyu The Godling was a mortal soul who found means to ancient power predating The Two.
There is little known about her.
Detriti the Swamp Witch and The Crow of Detriti were once one, but an ancient arcane ritual separated them into two beings. The Stalwart of Her have long feuded with The Crow of Detriti and its disciples who worship neither Mother Agora or The Nameless Serpent. None within Stalwart Fortress know their true motivations.
Little is known about Zo, The World Bearer apart from an understanding that its machinations are crucial to the existence of the world.
Logun, The Shameful was expelled from The Kingdom of the Enlightened for reasons unknown to The Stalwart.
None know the origin of The Nameless Charter, but The Stalwart are aware he holds an association with the Concord of The Grand Jester.

Beyond this, Gregor does not have any information on the remainder of The Seventeen. No record of Kilgore The Young , Wormlord Kuul, Child of Her, Yuria the Ancient, or God Sucker Kilgore.
Gregor grows confused when asked the question, "Will we all be burned?"

Seeking clarity on something he does not know, Gregor poses a question to the pilgrims. If answered correctly, he will resolve one more of the pilgrim's questions.
Please answer for me:
What is the significance of this sequence entered in my records?

Repeating himself twice, it is a short while before Isk, Seeker of Knowledge mutters the right answer [2] and Pud follows correctly, but loud enough for him to hear. [3]
Gregor rejoices to learn that the sequence is what began the dawn of Her glory in this 18th cycle[4] through the sacrifice of Olsten, and agrees to answer one more question the pilgrims have.

With that final answer, Gregor grows weary and moves to rest. He is receiving a sensation from Luta.
He parts with note that the pilgrims must begin to receive the life force of the world, if they wish to shape it as they see fit.
Gregor parts from the pilgrims, and they are left to seek Zell, The Cartographer. It's said that he will know what must be done next. [5]
